IAM Old Forge Properties

Scope of Position:

• Responsible for performing preventative and regular maintenance and repairs to all properties including Old Forge Campgrounds, Waters Edge Inn, Calypso's Cove and Water Safari.

Essential Duties:

• Works with Maintenance Director to determine maintenance issues and resolves deficiencies
• Monitors building and grounds for safety hazards and eliminates them
• Maintains a prioritized written task list
• Coordinates large projects with management and Resort team.
• Performs basic carpentry repairs 
• Assist in repairing and installing new plumbing and electrical fixtures
• Part of team to repair and install new drywall, paint and/or flooring
• Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC systems
• Organizes and coordinates work activities to ensure timely completion of projects
• Performs snow removal as required to keep the grounds and gutters safe and accessible during winter months
• Maintain garbage shed
• Responsible for monthly fire extinguisher, emergency lighting, and exit sign inspection programs
• Assists in maintaining pool, water chemistry and ensures circulation and filtration system is working properly
• Maintains up to date Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals used at the site
• Ensures first aid kits and bio-hazard kits are properly stocked and AED is in good working order
• Keeps a neat and orderly work area
• Keeps hand and power tools in proper locations and in good working order
• Answers emergency calls
• Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the General Manager

Qualifications:

• General knowledge of carpentry and plumbing
• General knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems, a plus.
• Previous maintenance/repair experience
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• High work ethic and self-initiative
• Valid Driver’s License

• Must be safety conscious and work in a safe manner at all times. Must use appropriate personal protective equipment, which will be supplied as needed.
• Must be well groomed, self-disciplined and willing to comply with uniform guidelines.
• Maintains productive and respectful working relationships.
• Able to interact professionally with a diverse group of people
